TAURON INTERNET FTTH IN KATOWICE AND TYSKI AREA

The project will be implemented in the Katowice and Tyskie area in the Silesian Voivodeship. The aim of the project is to provide broadband access to 10 967 households and connect 69 educational establishments from the project area to the broadband network. The scope of the project includes the design, construction and commissioning of broadband access network in fibre technology (GPON) with a capacity of at least 100 Mbps, providing services in accordance with the requirements of the NGA-POPC network. The built infrastructure will include passive elements, telecommunications nodes with equipment and active equipment. The built-up broadband network will achieve the following parameters: — Number of frame nodes created – 1, – Number of access nodes created – 45, – Broadband length – 617 km. The newly established network will provide residents, public and economic entities from the project area with the possibility of using broadband, Internet, television and multimedia information and services provided electronically. The implementation of the project will contribute directly to the specific objective of the Digital Poland Operational Programme 2014-2020, formulated under Priority Axis I, which reads “To eliminate territorial differences in high band broadband access” implemented through Action 1.1.
