NIZP-PZH has a unique resource of public data (ISP) concerning the health of the Polish population, as well as food safety and environmental risks. Data are collected and transmitted to the NIZP-PZH by the State Sanitary Inspection (PIS) and its organizational units as part of the ongoing epidemiological surveillance and official food control. Part of the data is collected directly by NIZP – PZH as part of the hospital morbidity survey and as part of Epidemiological reports in accordance with the Programme of Statistical Surveys of Public Statistics. These data are an important source of information necessary for planning activities both for public administrations at different levels, for health services and for entrepreneurs working in related industries. Access to data allows identification of public health risks, including risk assessments and trends in the impact of undesirable substances or micro-organisms in food on consumer health, and enable the development of disease-based strategies, epidemic plans, and official monitoring and monitoring plans. The data can also be used to estimate the demand for medical services and/or the demand for medicinal products, whether to be used by the food industry. The current way of data collection (dispersed electronic data and paper documents) makes it difficult to re-use the information collected not only to NIZP-PZH employees but also to other parties whose access to PSI is guaranteed by law and stakeholders. The essence of the project is to change the above situation by introducing key improvements in the process of data collection and storage through the construction of a System that will integrate all sources of data held and obtained by NIZP-PZH in such a way that this information can be made available with an appropriate level of security.
