The aim of the project is to open up access to scientific data in the resources of national scientific institutions on the biological diversity of nuclear organisms (Eukaryota). It will be implemented by digitising and making available data not yet in digital form and/or unavailable via the Internet (mobilisation) and integrating them at substantive and structural level in order to ensure high scientific quality and the possibility of their subsequent use to the widest possible extent possible (integration). There will be an IT system integrating and providing data from natural collections (data of evidence specimens) and data on the findings of species from other sources of information that were not yet available digitally (reference and unpublished sources, older offline databases belonging to project partners). Access to data on the distribution of species in Poland and data from the most scientifically valuable collections of flora and fauna from other regions will be open. Integration will apply to all data sets at the level of organisation and standardisation of data, as well as through the integration of taxonomy necessary to ensure substantive value. Access for internal users (data editing) and external (visualisation, compilations, reports) and webservices will be provided to enable them to cooperate with national repositories on data sharing and metadata. Planned tools and applications will support professionals and amateurs (citizen science), allowing to obtain new data from the field and digitisation activities, reducing the cost of digitisation by working in a group (also crowd-sourcing activities). Access to up-to-date data on species of particular interest (invasive, harmful, endangered, protected), relevant to the economy or other spheres of public life (health, education) will be facilitated.
