Apprenticeships programme in the State Higher Vocational Schools

The main objective of this non-competition project is to develop a nationwide, uniform system of 6-month apprenticeships in vocational universities. The project will finance only an additional 3 months of apprenticeships (in the case of apprenticeship grants, 5 months of apprenticeships will be financed), supplementing 3 months of compulsory apprenticeships under the practical profile (expenditure incurred for carrying out tasks under the project cannot be allocated to actions financed by the state budget for the training of full-time students or for actions financed by tuition fees paid by students covered by the project). The project is addressed to all public vocational universities (State Higher Vocational Schools) and non-public vocational universities, educating at least 100 students in full-time studies and in which the participation of full-time students in the total number of students is at least 40 %. Moreover, the results of the project will be able to be used by all higher education institutions within the framework of courses with a practical profile. The first phase of the project will be the preparation of preliminary documentation of the pilot course of six-month apprenticeships. As part of this task, an outline of an apprenticeship programme will be prepared, which will be the basis for modification and development for individual groups, courses and areas of education already implemented directly by universities. Extending the current period of compulsory student apprenticeships on practical profiles will help to achieve better educational outcomes and thus contribute to improving the skills of those involved in this type of education, responding to the needs of the economy and the labour market.
