Development of competences of the teaching staff of the Gdańsk Medical University

The project will be implemented in three task modules – 1/improvement of language skills, 2/improvement of competences in the field of new, activating teaching methods and 3/improvement of IT competences and the use of med information resources, including med databases. Module will improve digital skills and improve staff competence in information management. The training will be carried out before the implementation stage for teaching specific subjects. Implementation will be launched during the implementation of the project.Language skills include teaching in English currently conducted at the university (medical and nursing) and planned in the future mainly in pharmaceuticals and dietetics. In the latter directions we plan to develop an English-speaking offer for progr students. Erasmus+ and interested in Polish studies. The selection of the training programme in the field of teaching, IT and use of databases is dictated by the expectations and experience of the staff identified in the course of the project and the real possibilities for implementing and disseminating the project results. Moreover, according to the experience of the active staff during the preparatory work, the planned training programme is an attractive offer corresponding to the expectations of students.During the implementation of the project, the university will be based primarily on the most active academic teachers willing to develop their competences. The added value of the project will be the creation of an involved group of teachers willing not only to improve their skills, but also active in exchanging experience and spreading good practices. This will allow for the sustainability of the project not only to be achieved in terms of direct implementation of acquired competences in the competition, but also to the effect at the general level.
