The aim of the “Available School” project is to develop and disseminate (together with the second beneficiary) universal and nationwide School Model and test it by at least 30 governing bodies and 60 primary schools throughout Poland, including open, inclusive and special schools through the implementation of grant projects to increase accessibility within the levels defined in the model in the period from 03.06.2019 to 30.06.2023. As part of the project, an innovative Available School Model will set standards for school accessibility in all areas, including: Adaptation of education, care and upbringing processes to the needs of pupils with special educational needs Awareness and competence of the staff Architectural, information, communication, transport equipment School equipment Organisation of student delivery Access to the development of interests and additional activitiesThe aim of the project will be implemented in accordance with the government programme Availability+ (D+).The model will also specify: How to measure the level of availability The processes leading to their respective levels Support the schools’ roles of coordinators/leaders/leaders/accessibility at the level of the host body and school (according to D+).Project actions will include: Development of the Available School Model, Preparing and launching grant competitions for governing bodies and primary schools implementation of the model and substantive support for grant recipients and schools (including availability audits for approx. 130 % of the best applications – added value for applicants who do not receive a grant) Dissemination of the tested model and its implementation into the policy.Testing the Model at nationwide level in different types of schools will help to refine details and make recommendations to include the Model in the mainstream of politics.As a consequence, the project will increase the level of education accessibility for all children, educational workers and parents.
