Improving the energy efficiency of the building at ul. Coastal 5A WS-SPZOZ in Zgorzelec

Comprehensive thermal modernisation of the building of the Health Care Department in Zgorzelec at 5A Nadbrzeżna Street with the use of renewable energy sources, the aim of which will be radically improving the energy efficiency of the facility will be designed in accordance with the concept of universal design. Bringing the building to a state corresponding to modern energy standards will be associated with its deep thermo-modernisation combined with the use of renewable energy sources. The building will be heated using a bivalent heating system consisting of a heat pump modulated to a power of 90 kW brine-water with a lower heat source in the form of vertical wells and a 70 kW natural gas boiler. The gas boiler will serve as a peak (reserve) heat source. This system will be powered by electricity produced by an on-grid photovoltaic installation of 30 kW in combination. Zgorzelec’s Low-Emission Management Plan justifies the need to support comprehensive thermal modernisation of the building as this will lead to an increase in the quality of life in the region by improving air quality by reducing the demand for non-renewable fuels used for heating purposes in a public utility building. The direct target group are residents and hospital workers intermediate group residents of Zgorzelec. The project will increase public acceptance of renewable energy in combination with modern construction technology used to renovate and modernise the existing building substance. This impact will be reinforced by the ongoing promotion of the project.
