The project consists of the expansion, superstructure and construction and demolition of a total of 4 sections of the shafts of the Odry and Cicha Woda rivers – Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, Legnicki district, Prochowice commune, towns: Kawice, Legnicki Horns, Kwiatkowice, Lisowice and Prochowice. The total length of sections of shafts intended for expansion, superstructure and construction shall be 13,136 km, including: — construction of a new embankment – section Malczyce – cavice by long. 2.030 km, – extension, overbuilding of the embankment – section of kawice-Kwiatkowice by length. 7.630 km, – extension, redevelopment of the left embankment of Silent Water length. 1.881 km (m. kawice), – extension, superstructure of the right embankment of the Silent Water length. 1.595 km (m. kawice). It is expected to recover the natural floodplain area on an area of about 74 hectares, an increase in valley retention by approx. 1.450 million m³, as a result of the partial demolition of the existing embankment of the left-hand river Oder L-9 and the construction of a new embankment Malczyce-kawice. The beneficiary of the project is the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (Dolnośląskie Management Board of Melioration and Water Equipment in Wrocław). The investment will be implemented in the “build” formula on the basis of the decision to permit the realisation of the investment. The contractor will be selected in the tender procedure in accordance with the PZP Act. The implementation will be based on the documentation and administrative decisions obtained and will be monitored by specialised technical staff. The most beneficial option was chosen, which combines flood protection, increasing natural retention by approx. 1.450 million m³ avoiding the protected celery meadows – a fragment of meadows designated in the plan of conservation tasks as a natural habitat of 6510 low and mountain fresh meadows extensively used.
