The project consists of a comprehensive modernisation and restoration of the original parameters of the Avenue of Freedom in Głogów, while preserving the historical character of the road system. The project results from the Local Revitalisation Programme for the City of Głogów, Resolution No XXVII/240/16 of the Głogów City Council dated 25.10.2016. The area is located in the strict conservation area. The direct objective of the project is the comprehensive revitalisation of A W and restoring its social, economic and spatial functions. As part of the project, the following will be carried out: reconstruction of the pavement using existing stone materials, including the construction of bays and 129 parking stations, replacement of street drains and installation of new drains, installation of new-style lanterns, removal of collisions with existing accompanying infrastructure, change of traffic organisation. The implementation of the project will contribute to: improving transport connections in the city centre; improving road safety; shortening the journey time and improving traffic flow in this part of the city; protecting the environment by reducing acoustic impacts and exhaust emissions into the air; raising the standard of living of residents living in the immediate vicinity of A W; increasing the tourist attractiveness of Głogów, in particular the sites in the historic centre, improving the operating conditions of existing and potential enterprises located in the immediate vicinity of the revitalised area; magnification of the biologically active surface; improving the image of part of the city; inclusion of people with disabilities by adapting infrastructure to their needs. The Municipality of Głogów is the Applicant and the operator – responsible for the implementation of the project at all stages of the project: preparation, implementation, settlement and durability.
