Il 28 febbraio 2017 il Consiglio del governo per la digitalizzazione della pubblica amministrazione e il mercato unico digitale ha approvato il documento "Gestione dei dati", che propone di affrontare la questione della gestione dei dati e della condivisione dei dati, sia tra istituzioni della pubblica amministrazione che tra enti esterni alla pubblica amministrazione. ÚPPVII nell'ambito dell'informatizzazione dell'azienda assicura la gestione centrale dell'informatizzazione e della definizione delle politiche del mercato unico digitale, il processo decisionale sull'uso delle risorse finanziarie nella pubblica amministrazione per la tecnologia dell'informazione, l'architettura centrale del sistema informativo integrato della pubblica amministrazione e il coordinamento dell'esecuzione dei compiti nel campo dell'informatizzazione dell'azienda, compresa la realizzazione di elementi centrali per la gestione dei dati.
