Splošni cilj projekta je povečati število naprednih študijskih programov na področju naravoslovja, tehnologije, inženirstva in matematike, vključno z medicinsko in ustvarjalno industrijo. Posebni cilj projekta je povečati število posodobljenih študijskih programov RTU STEM z izboljšanjem in razvojem infrastrukture RTU. Strategija razvoja infrastrukture RTU se osredotoča na razvoj ozemeljsko koncentrirane študijske in znanstvene delovne infrastrukture ter krepitev strateške specializacije. S pomočjo tega projekta bo RTU še naprej vlagal v področja, kjer cilji reforme ali prestrukturiranja še niso bili doseženi, ta podpora pa bo logično nadaljevanje naložb, ki so že bile izvedene ali se že izvajajo in bodo temeljile na letu 2008. Izkušnje, pridobljene v obdobju 2015 in dosežene rezultate ter razvojna strategija RTU 2015. Projekt naj bi se izvajal 48 mesecev od 15. septembra 2017 do 14. septembra 2021, skupni upravičeni stroški projekta pa znašajo 11 725 073,00 EUR (vključno s sredstvi ESRR – 9 966 312,05 EUR in državnim proračunskim financiranjem – 1 478 760,95 EUR).
