Increasing the accessibility of the metro transport network in the southern part of Bucharest, by extending the M2 bus with an above-ground station, between the Berceni metro station and the Centura road. Following the implementation of the project, it will contribute to the objectives of the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme – Priority Axis 1 (PA): Improving mobility by developing the TEN-T network and metro transport. Given the need to increase the coverage of the metro network, it is necessary to continue to extend it to cover the increasing demand for transport, in conjunction with the reduction of congestions in essential nodes of surface traffic by directing to the underground transport of the travelling public in Bucharest and its suburbs. Implementation of this project: The construction of a subway station above ground level located between the Berceni metro station and the Belt Road contributes to the following indicators: ID CO15 Urban Transport: Total length of new or improved tram and metro lines. ID 2S123 New/upgraded access stations built through the project. The project also contributes to the 2S8 result indicator, because by implementing the project, the number of passengers who will use the metro as a means of transport will increase by 8381 as shown by the technical and financial documentation.
