Development of an intelligent power grid at the Rzeszów Branch of PGE Dystrybucja S.A.

The implementation of the investment results directly from the needs identified by the Applicant in the process of operating the infrastructure. The result of the investment will be the expansion of smart electricity grids, which will increase the possibility of connecting RES sources without lowering the parameters of the supplied energy. As a result of the investment, the efficiency of the distribution system will be improved and the reliability of the network will be increased by minimizing the risk of failures and interruptions in the supply of energy. The subject of the investment is the modernisation of the 110 kV Nisko – Biłgoraj line and the modernisation of the 110/15 kV Boguchwał station, in accordance with the applicable standards of PGE Dystrybucja S.A. The reconstructed and expanded section of the 110 kV Nisko – Biłgoraj line will be realized as an overhead section with three working wires and one lightning conductor. The reconstruction and extension of the 110 kV line will be carried out along the route of the existing 110 kV Nisko – Biłgoraj line. The total length of the line is 43.88 km, of which 34.85 km lies in the area managed by PGE Dystrybucja S.A. Branch Rzeszów, and the remaining 9.03 km in the area managed by PGE Dystrybucja S.A. Branch Zamość. The modernisation of the Boguchła GPZ consists in the expansion of the existing 110/15 kV power station. The 110/15 kV Boguchwał station is connected by 110 kV overhead lines with Strzyżów, Sędziszów, Świlcza, Rzeszów Dworzysko, Rzeszów DMS, Rzeszów WSK, Husów and Dynów stations. The station is powered from the 110 kV autotransformer field, which is under the control of PSE. The station operates in a system of 110 kV double busbars with a transverse clutch, a sectioned disconnector and a bypass rail for linear fields on the north side. The project consists of two investment tasks, which were included in the list of projects of strategic importance for the socio-economic development of regions, agreed by the DSO with the voivodships of Eastern Poland, based on development priorities included in the voivodship development strategies (Indicative list of FEPW projects, items 71 and 73). As a result of the modernisation of the 110 kV Low - Biłgoraj line, the following smart electricity infrastructure functionalities (4 Smart Grid functionalities) will be implemented: • Real-time load monitoring and visualisation functionality; • Functionality of automatic control of voltage level and reactive power level on the bus; • functionality of automatic delivery of system services (including voltage, frequency and reactive power control); • Real-time load measurement functionality with visualisation; As a result of the modernisation of the Boguchła GPZ, the following functionalities of the intelligent power infrastructure will be implemented (5 functionalities of the Smart Grid type): • Real-time load monitoring and visualisation functionality; • Active and reactive power flow control functionality (e.g. control of distributed sources and reactive power compensators); • functionality of automatic delivery of system services (including voltage, frequency and reactive power control); • functionality of aggregation of distributed source management; • Real-time load measurement functionality with visualisation. Information on how to implement the above-mentioned functionalities, information on the technical readiness of the project to be implemented and the impact of the project on the development of entrepreneurship and the development of zero-emission transport are presented in more detail in the feasibility study and later in the application for funding.
